I have always had a keen interest in history. It was included in my first degree and in 2010 I was awarded MA in London’s history at the University of London; my dissertation was on ‘The Migration of the Welsh to London 1500-1700’. I have spent more than 30 years researching and promulgating the history of the Crystal Palace through walks and talks. I am author of ‘To the Palace for the Cup’, a history of football at the Crystal Palace.

For more than 15 years, I have lectured about London’s history at various colleges and organisations including the WEA and U3A. I established the City of London ‘Exploring the City’ course and ran it for the first 3 years.
In 2006, I successfully completed the City of London Guides course and in October 2017 I was proud to be granted Freedom of the City of London in a ceremony at the Guildhall. I am pictured (right) with the Deputy Clerk of the Chamberlain’s Court.
